transfer deadline day update
Republic of Ireland defender Joe Shaughnessy has joined Championship side Falkirk on loan until the next transfer window in January. The 22 year old has only featured once for the Dons this season, coming on as a late substitute in the 2-0 Rugby Park win at Kilmarnock last month, and manager Derek McInnes believes the youngster can only benefit from regular first team football. “The opportunities have been limited here for Joe this season and playing every week at a good level can only be beneficial for him. We’ve seen in the past the benefits of players going out on loan, and Joe himself enjoyed a productive spell at Forfar a couple of seasons ago.” The manager added that he does not expect any more transfer activity today, either in or out. “We conducted the majority of our business some time ago in terms of the squad, which I’m happy with, and that should be it for us.” Joe is the fourth Don to go out on loan this summer, joining Declan McManus (Morton), Danny Rogers (Dumbarton) and Jamie Masson (Brechin City).
