Coach Education Success

It was a hugely successful summer for AFCCT coaches progressing up the Scottish FA coach education pathway. Over 10 AFCCT Community Coaches have progressed from the attendance based level 1 courses to achieve a level 2 award in the form of the C Licence on the Youth and Adult pathway and or the Children's Award which is the second highest qualification for coaching 6-12 year olds. Level 2 courses are ran over 5 full days and are assessed by Scottish FA tutors.

For so many AFCCT coaches to be successful in gaining these awards is a fantastic achievement but no coincidence with these coaches dedicating countless hours and in some cases years to their own coaching development.

AFCCT takes great pride in the development of enthusiastic staff with full time coaches also providing mentoring nights and additional support to ensure anyone who wanted extra help was fully prepared for assessment.

“I found the C licence a great learning experience for myself and allowed me to expand my knowledge of the game as well as developing as a coach.” – Jo Murphy, Scottish FA Girls and Women’s Development Officer

“My time on the course was very enjoyable over the 5 days, I felt the tutors were very approachable and their demonstration sessions were simple and easy to understand but with a level of detail that was new to me.” David Clark, AFCCT and AFC Youth Academy Coach.

“The additional support offered by AFCCT provided me with the platform to go through the C Licence with great confidence.” – Harley Hamdani, AFCCT Equity Officer

“AFCCT were great by providing us the opportunity to practice with local youth teams and by giving us feedback and support throughout, this gave us the best chance to learn and improve our coaching.” -Lawrence McLelland, AFCCT and AFC Youth Academy Coach

I have no doubt that the quality support and mentoring from AFCCT allowed to not only to pass the course but to take as much from it as possible and to develop further as a coach.” – Matthew Mackie AFCCT Community Coach
