for future Dons stars
Local bus operator, First Aberdeen, today revealed a new partnership with Aberdeen Football Club which has seen three of its future young stars receive free journeys on First Aberdeen’s bus services.
The partnership has been introduced to help the players attend training sessions and football matches.
Scott MacAulay and Jamie Hamilton thanked First Aberdeen today and were joined by First Team Manager, Craig Brown, and Under 20 Manager, Neil Cooper.
“I’m grateful to First Aberdeen for its support,” said Neil Cooper.”Getting to and from training and matches can be challenging at times for some of the youngsters and their parents.Providing them with free journeys on First Aberdeen buses is a great solution.”
He continued: “I’m told that First Aberdeen’s services are very reliable, so we won’t be accepting any excuses if they’re late for training!”
Craig Brown said:”Many of the youngsters coming through nowadays have relied on the bus to some extent in their earlier careers.Ryan Fraser, for example, was a regular on the bus, until he passed his driving test.
“It’s great to see companies like First get involved in the youth team.Hopefully it won’t be too long before we see Scott, Stuart and Jamie travelling on the coach that First Aberdeen provides for the first team players.”
Director and General Manager of First Aberdeen, Duncan Cameron, said: “First Aberdeen and the Football Club have enjoyed a strong partnership over the years.Therefore, we were more than happy to provide some assistance for the three budding stars.We wish Scott, Jamie and Stuart every success and hope they enjoy a rewarding career in football.”
Talking about First’s relationship with Aberdeen FC, Duncan Cameron continued: “Many supporters rely on First Aberdeen services to get to home matches and indeed we operate Park and Ride facilities from Bridge of Don, Souterhead Road and Kingswells especially for Dons fans on match days.In addition we operate the official team coach, which the first team uses for away matches.”
