Brad Lyons was the player that met with the media on Tuesday afternoon ahead of our game against Falkirk.

St Mirren goal
“The goal was just one of them ones that I’ll never forget. My wee man was at the game, so that’s the first goal he’s saw me score, so it’s not a bad one.
“Obviously, scoring’s nice, but when it actually counts towards helping the team win, then you can speak about it a bit more and share it on social media a bit more, so it’s nice.”
A good group
“I think that’s the good thing in terms of this squad, in terms of this team, especially this season. The players the gaffer’s brought in, the players who were already here, it’s a great squad.
“Everyone enjoys coming in every day. We’re around each other. Even the injured boys. I have been injured for eight weeks; I never felt that I was excluded. I was always within the group, always felt a part of the group, and we’ll do the same with them boys (injured players).
“The mood’s good, and we analysed the game from Saturday. There were a lot of positives to take. We played a lot of good stuff, but we just need to match good performances with good results, and hopefully that starts tomorrow night.”
Managing the game
“I guess that was probably the excitement from Saturday because we were playing so well. We dominated the game for large parts, and sometimes as a player you maybe get carried away and think you can get right on top of the game. Unfortunately, we did concede a couple of goals from it.
“As the senior players out there on the pitch, you can’t expect the manager to give you every detail when you’re on the pitch. So, it’s the senior boys, myself in the middle of the pitch, who need to calm things down, not play the moment, and just concentrate on our jobs.
“We’ve analysed all the positives and the negatives from the goals we conceded. That was one thing we need to fix, and hopefully we can do that tomorrow night.”
Finding consistency
“That’s one thing about us: the consistency isn’t there this season. We always pick up good results and then sort of can’t match them afterwards, which is really frustrating for us because we’re showing a lot of positives. But, as I said, you just need to put it all together.”
A good Falkirk side
“They’re building momentum. I know a couple of their coaches, such as Stephen McGinn. They have top-class coaches and a top-class manager. You’ve seen that with the back-to-back promotions and then staying in the league and doing so well last year.
“They’re a good team. They’re good players. They bring in a lot of good players, and that’s the thing. Every team in this league is good. Everyone’s capable of beating everyone.
“We’re trying to focus on ourselves, concentrating on ourselves, because I think if we can put the right performance in, it doesn’t matter who the opposition is.”
Taking your opportunity
“At the end of the day in football, someone’s downfall follows another person’s opportunity. As bad as that sounds, we are all a team, but you want to be playing. There are individuals who’ve been working hard on the training pitch, keeping themselves fit, and it may be their opportunity tomorrow night or Saturday, or whoever knows when an injury happens.
“I think it’s the type of thing where, if someone has a setback, you obviously get around them. You don’t want to see anyone injured. You don’t want to see anyone ill. You want to get everyone available because we have such a good squad. But again, it’s an opportunity for someone to take their chance.”
Wednesday night at Pittodrie
“I think no one’s really looking outside of tomorrow night. We have to look after ourselves tomorrow night, focus on getting a good result and a good performance, and then the rest takes care of itself.”
