Aberdeen falkirk preview -2 Image

We return to William Hill Premiership action on Wednesday evening, with Falkirk making the journey north to Pittodrie.

The Dons will be looking to get back to winning ways in the league after Saturday’s trip to Dundee United, while Falkirk arrive in the Granite City looking to continue their recent upturn in form.

Tickets are available online now.

“We will have to play it by ear, we don’t know (about having unavailable players back), we will see where we are on Wednesday morning. It’s just a fact; we won’t use it as an excuse. We have to take the positives out of the performance.”

Opposition Watch

Falkirk head for Pittodrie off the back of two wins over both Hibernian at Easter Road (1-2), and Kilmarnock (3-0) at home.

Recent results have moved them up to seventh in the table. They have three wins, three wins, and four losses from their opening 10.

American striker Jacob Murrell has been in inspired form of late, the former DC United frontman netted twice in the win over Kilmarnock on Saturday, taking his goal tally to five in eight since his summer arrival.

After failing to win our two games vs The Bairns at Pittodrie last season, our last victory over Falkirk in AB24 came in October 2010, before a 15 year wait to meet again in the North-east.

The Dons won 2-1 on that occasion, a League Cup Quarter-final, coming behind thanks to a Paul Hartley brace, the winner coming from the penalty spot in the fifth minute of additional play.

Aberdeen: Howard, Ifil, McArdle, Diamond, Robertson, Mackie, Hartley, Jack, Aluko, Maguire, Vernon. Unused Subs: Langfield, Young, Velicka, Paton, Magennis.

Player Perspective

“We can defend better as a team first and foremost and we have to try and rectify that on Wednesday to make sure that we go into next weekend in good form. We've got a game coming up to bounce back in, and we need to take those positives from Tannadice into Wednesday. It is a big week, I'm surprised we've got a midweek game before the semi-final, but that's how it is.”
