The draw for the quarter-finals of the Betfred Cup was made at Celtic Park this evening and resulted as follows:

Morton v Dundee United Celtic v Alloa Athletic Rangers v Queen of the South Aberdeen v St Johnstone

Ties due to be played on the midweek of September 20/21/22

After the Dons 2-1 victory over Ayr United manager Derek McInnes spoke to RedTV and gave his reaction to the draw:

“We seem to find each other in these draws! It will be a tough game for us. Yes it could have been tougher and we are at home.

“We are grateful for that but it could also have been an easier draw. We are up against a strong side. We are up against a team who will feel confident that they can come to our place and get a result.

“We just need to make sure we are in good form going into the tie.

“To get to the semi-final of a cup competition you are going to have to beat at least one good team. And St Johnstone are certainly that.”
