Aberdeen FC Community Trust are now recruiting for the latest Football Fans In Training programme. The 13 week programme will start on Tuesday 10th February, with sessions running from 6pm – 7.30pm here at the stadium for the 13 weeks.
Football Fans In Training is a fun-filled 13 week programme aimed at improving men's health and wellbeing, while providing them with a behind-the-scenes look at the Club. The FREE weekly sessions at Pittodrie are split between classroom health education and physical activity training; all sessions are delivered by AFC Community Trust Coaches using the club's facilities and feedback from previous programmes has been very positive.
The programme is delivered by David Smith the Community Projects Officer with Aberdeen FC Community Trust, he said “On the last programme we had one participant who lost an amazing 19kg, and 11 centimetre’s off his waist which is remarkable! I am getting men coming in saying they are happier at home and are able to play football with their kids, they are going out more with family and friends, and being more active because of the programme having a very positive impact on their lives, it’s great to hear”. “With the focus being on small changes, based around walking and light exercises more often and making healthier choices when eating, the group can really see that small, achievable lifestyle changes can lead to such a positive impact not just for the group, but for their families as well”.
AFC Manager Derek McInnes said: “One of our priorities at Aberdeen FC is the health and wellbeing of our faithful supporters. We welcome the opportunity to enhance the lifestyles of the Dons fans through Aberdeen FFIT 2015.”
