“I have been in football a long time and I know these things sometimes come up but you have to deal with it.
“As a squad of players we know that we were not good enough today. We worked on a lot of set pieces (in training) but did not defend them well enough. We also did not attack well enough. We know that.
“We know there is work to be done but you can’t get away from the fact we have 24 points out of 30. That is not a bad return. We know today’s performance was not good enough and we are very disappointed for ourselves, the fans, our coaching staff but it has still been a decent start to the season and we look forward to moving on.
“First and foremost you have to give St Johnstone credit. They did well, the harassed us well. I think we were complacent at set plays which is something we normal do not do. That is something we are going to be working on a lot over the next week.
“It was a bad day at the office but what else can do you? – we come back into tomorrow, get together and starting working hard again to make sure it does not happen again.
“People will say things (our bubble has burst) but I don’t think so. We are still top of the league. I am still looking at things from a positive perspective. We are still in a great position with a great squad of players who work hard for each other.
“We have played some good football this season. People need to remember that.
“We are looking forward to our next game very much especially after what happened today. We have the international break coming up and you can look at that two different ways. Some might say a break is a good thing but I would rather play tomorrow if I could. We can’t do that but what we can do is go and work in training to get things right for the next game.
“We do not get carried away in that dressing room. We know the performance was not good enough but we will make sure it does not happen again.”
