“I have really enjoyed my time at the club since I arrived. We have won a trophy and there is still a lot more to come. I always knew that I could play late into my career because I have looked after myself. It was just a case of me trying to prove my worth.
“The big thing for me is the desire is still there and I can’t wait to try and lift another trophy. When that desire leaves you in the playing sense then it is time to call it a day, but it is still burning inside and I am ready to go again for another season.
“It is amazing how far desire and hard work can get you.
“I was not ready to call it a day. I still feel that I can run games and fitness is not an issue. So why stop then?
“I will be the first to hold my hands up if I think I cannot contribute. I am sure the manager would tell me before then as well!
“I will be ready to race all the young boys at pre-season! That is just the way I am and the way I will always be. I know that I need to look after my body but I have always done that.
“I have spoken to the manager and he has said there is certain games he will want me to play in and a certain way he wants me to play in those games. That is how I will contribute to the team. I will adapt my game to how the manager wants me to play. I might not race about the park like I did when I was a youngster but I will still be wanting to win tackles and win headers. That will never leave me.
“I always want to win.”
“I always want to win.”
