Barry Robson spoke to the media this lunchtime at Cormack Park to look ahead to our Saturday night match against Dundee. RedTV subscribers can watch in full through the video above.
“We have had eight players away on international duty and we have got them all back in today. We’ve not been able to work on a lot with the guys. We’re just hoping that they stayed healthy when they were away and we wish them well with that. We’ve got them all back in the building today. So we’re just going over things, seeing how they all are and finding out any knocks and niggles and all these sort of things.
“We have obviously tried to build a new squad and we would like a lot more time on the training pitch and international breaks is one time you can do it but obviously when you sign good players they are away on international duty. We have not had that chance so we do a lot of analysis work and we’re learning as we go. We are doing well with that and that is five unbeaten now so we’re getting there and hopefully we can keep building but we know the amount of games we’ve got coming, which is difficult. We’re not going to get much time on the training pitch, but we’re going to keep working, a lot of analysis and a lot of other things of what we really want what we’re really looking for.
“We have a lot of games coming up but I think if you can just win your next game that is the most important thing. We’re trying to emphasise that to the players. Don’t look at the top of the mountain, you’ve got to get through the battles first. So we know what’s coming. So we concentrate massively on the next game, that is Dundee and that’s all we’ve looked at for the last two weeks.
“Tony Docherty is obviously someone I worked with up here and I am really looking forward to going up against him. He is a top guy and a top coach. I am really pleased for him that he’s a manager now and is someone who I worked closely with for a lot of years. I learnt certain things from Tony. I know his team looks organised, I’ve watched a lot of them over the last couple of weeks. They are very good at set-plays. I think the last four goals have been set-plays. We know how difficult that is to manage. It’s a game we’re really looking forward to. We’re in a good place so let’s try and impose ourselves on the game and see what we can bring and see if we can get a good result.
“For team news we are okay at the minute, apart from Jimmy McGarry and Shayden Morris, they are the only ones at the minute. The rest of the boys are okay coming back from international.”
