Kelle Roos made some vital saves at either end of the game at St Johnstone to ensure that the Dons kept a second clean sheet in a row. And came away from Perth with all three points.
“As a goalkeeper, you want to make saves at big moments and I did that in the game. In the first half, if they get the early goal it changes the way the game goes, so that was a big save right at the start of the game. Then the save at the end to keep the win, that was one to enjoy. Two clean sheets in a row is big for confidence, that’s my bread and butter, and we must now string more together, to give us the platform to go and win more games.
“We went to St Johnstone to get the win and they are three big points. We know we can play better than that, but first and foremost we wanted the result, we wanted the clean sheet, and we achieved that. We are bringing a lot of aggression and energy to games at this moment, we are battling together. As a goalkeeper, you need to deliver at the moments when they need you.
“For me and the defenders especially, this kind of win when you have to work hard at the back is as good as a 3-0 win when you are cruising. It feels like a good day’s work, where we have been needed. We work hard every day in training to bring these performances and you want to go into battle with guys like these.
“We are at that time in the season when you do look at the league table. First of all, you have to get the results, you go one game at a time, this is very clear. But when you can do that, it’s nice to see we are moving up the league. But we have done nothing yet, we have to stick with what we are doing and keep going in the right direction.
“We had a bad spell of results but that’s when you see how good a group is. We have pulled together and that shows the character of the squad. But we know how quickly it can go the other way again, we’ve seen that, so we’re not sitting back. On Monday we go back to work. Everybody realises the difference between finishing third and fourth, make no bones about it, but all we can do is work hard and try our best to keep moving forwards.”
