Andrew Considine | quotes from his post match media conference.
“Another sore one to take.
“I thought there was not much in the game. I thought we started the second half very well. We kept them in their half but we failed to capitalise. We had a great chance which might have changed the game had we scored. I thought they only really had two or three clear cut chances and they scored twice. The cross for the first goal, I don’t think it was even meant for Kenny Miller, it took a deflection. That was a huge sucker punch because before the first goal I thought we were doing well.
“It was a very tough game but I thought we matched them. Man for man all over the pitch we were keeping them at bay. I did not think they were threatening us much.
“So, to find ourselves two down was a really tough one. But we kept going and still had chances to get back into the game but by the time I scored my goal it was only a consolation it mattered very little.
“When you come to places like this you only get so many chances during the game and you need to take them. We had a number of good chances but did not take our opportunities. Maybe our final ball in the final third was not the best at times but I felt we were getting ourselves into good positions. We maybe did not get the numbers in the box that we needed.
“I did not see what happened at the end (with the Ryan Jack sending off). I had my back to it.
“I think the boys can still hold their heads up high. We gave it a good shot and now we look forward to Tuesday night and the Kilmarnock at home. We have three games now at Pittodrie, three massive games so we must not let the heads drop. It is a massive month for us as we have a couple of games in hand to play. If we get through this month with some good results, we will then be back up there fighting.
“It was never going to be an easy week but it certainly did not go the way we wanted.
“Questions are being asked of the players but when you play for a club like Aberdeen questions get asked of you every week. We need to deliver. We knew it was a huge six days for us. It could have gone completely differently but it has not so we need to pick ourselves up and get on with.
“That is the thing with football. You have got a couple of days and then you are straight into another game. We have a chance to get back on track.
“I think Rangers, ourselves and Hearts will probably battle it out for second spot but we are not thinking about that. We just need to focus on Tuesday. It is now a massive game.
“With the characters and quality we have got in that dressing room there is still confidence. We need to stick together. We need to dust ourselves down and prepare for Tuesday night and hopefully get the result we need.
“All we can do is win the next game and then start to answer the critics back by having a strong month.
“For every team, December is normally a huge month and it certainly will be for us. We need to forget about the past week and get the results that we need over the next ten days.”
