Aberdeen FC Community Trust held their second Fundraising Dinner at the Marcliffe Hotel & Spa on Thursday 17th March, raising a total in excess £ 21000.   All the money raised will be used to develop and deliver community programmes in the North East of Scotland, designed to provide Support and Opportunity to change lives for the better.

The event was a complete sell out, with sponsorship generously provided by EY, Stewart Milne Group, Technip, Apache, Iceberg and Aberdeen Leasing Investments.   MC for the night was Alex Fleming, while broadcaster Richard Gordon hosted a Q&A session with Aberdeen FC legends Neale Cooper, John Hewitt and Neil Simpson. All three players contributed heavily during the club's finest era with their exploits on the pitch and they provided plenty of laughs on the night as they discussed the camaraderie and fantastic team spirit that played such a huge part in delivering silverware and success to Aberdeen.

AFCCT extend a huge thanks to Neale, John and Neil for coming along, as well as everyone who represented Aberdeen FC at the event including the manager Derek McInnes, Goalkeeping Coach Gordon Marshall and AFCCT Player Ambassador, Scott Brown.

The fantastic total raised will go a long way to making a huge difference to people’s lives in Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland, and will allow the Community Trust to help the people who need help the most in society today.

AFCCT Chief Executive, Ally Prockter said, “Once again, AFC Community Trust has received fantastic support from the many people who help us to deliver our community programmes.  The final total raised was fantastic, and this money will all go towards supporting various communities across the North East of Scotland.   “People’s willingness to help others never ceases to amaze me, and last night clearly demonstrated the generosity of those living & working in this area. Thanks to everyone who contributed to making the evening a huge success.”
