Aberdeen FC Youth Academy are very fortunate to have an active and enthusiastic Parents Association which carry out fundraising activities throughout the season to raise funds for the Youth Academy
The association have been busy hosting a variety of events including golf days, a speakers dinner and a ladies day since the start of the season to raise funds for the Youth Academy. Prior to the Christmas the Parents Association presented Neil Simpson with a cheque for £14000 which will be utilised for squads to attend international tournaments throughout the season. One of the annual events that the Parents Association are involved in is the production of Youth Academy calendars which are sold to family and friends of current Youth Academy players. In December some Youth Academy Players visited the sponsors to present them with a calendar and thank them for their generous support. The club and Parents Association wish to thank the following companies for their sponsorship:

Head of Youth Academy, Neil Simpson, was full of praise for the work carried out by the Parents Association this year, “On behalf of AFC Youth Academy I would like to thank everyone associated with the parents association for their outstanding contribution this year. Over the last 6 years extra funds that have been raised have been used to provide extra resources for the young players such as an extra set of kit, end of season medals, sport psychology sessions, a schools initiative programme and financial support for every squad to attend an international tournament. This year the Association has once again produced calendars, Christmas cards and individual and teams photographs, which are very popular with family and friends of academy players. A lot of work goes into producing these and we wish to thank the association for all their hard work in and also acknowledge all the work that the Association do on a weekly basis with arranging the provision of teas and snacks at Balgownie on a matchday and taking the goals down on a match day.”
