“We're obviously delighted to get through.

“We knew it would be a tough game, it always is against St Johnstone and we're buzzing to be into the semi-final now.

“There were not many chances.

“It was a brilliant save from Joe Lewis, it's gone right over my head in the wall. I thought it was in all the way, it was a brilliant finger tips save onto the bar, thankfully Ash was there first to clear.

“Then we went down the other end minutes later and managed to get the winner. They had the one just offside as well so we're just delighted to get through. For the goal it was great cross by Shinnie and thankfully I have manged to get across my man and get a touch on it.

“I did not realise there was so little time left. I could not understand why we got so deep and then the referee blow up!

“We didn't mind who we got in the draw, the main thing was to get into the semi-final in the first place and of course it is a one off game if you get into the final. Regardless of who we got, it's a cup competition and anyone can beat anyone. We have to go into the game confident we can get to the final, but at the same time we have to respect Morton. They are on a good run at the minute. There is a lot of football to be played before then.

“In the last couple of games you can see the strength of the squad. We have had players who have come off the bench and scored goals. Jayden scored a great goal on Sunday and Wes won the penalty. I thought Peter did very well when he came on tonight and I managed to get the goal. It is going to be a long season and we are going to need that competition for places if we are to do well in all competitions.

“We are going into the game on Sunday looking forward to it and hopefully we can get the win.

“We just turn our attention to Rangers now. Before we had not really thought much about it. We have had two very tough games this week against Dundee and St Johnstone that we needed to get past first. We just take each game as it comes. With the two wins behind us we can now go into the game with confidence but it is another fixture that we have to go and try and win.

“As a player you want to play in big games. I am looking forward to the atmosphere but as I said it is just another game that we need to focus on. We don’t get too hyped up about it. We will just go out and try and do our jobs.

“I am not sure if we are the favourites on Sunday. I will leave that for others to decide. We will try and win the game, that is all we can do. We know they are a good side so we will look at how we might beat them in training over the next couple of days.”
