“It has been a busy couple of days but I am just happy to be here now.
“I found out at the start of the week that there was definite interest from Aberdeen and things have very quickly developed from there.
“It is a fantastic move for me. Aberdeen are a great club. As I say I am just happy to be here and looking forward to playing some games and hopefully help Aberdeen in the league.
“I knew the pedigree of Aberdeen and the history and size of the club. I also chatted to a number of people who spoke very highly of the club and have always said to me that if I got the opportunity to come here I should.
“I know Chris Maguire and Rob Milsom who were very positive about the move and said it was a tremendous opportunity for me to come up here. I have also played in the past with Kari Arnason and Lee Miller.
“I was very impressed with the manager when I first spoke to him. He was very passionate in the way that he spoke. He sounded very keen to get me here which was a massive thing.
“I love big games. I am lucky enough to have played at Wembley three times now. The last time I played there was the play-off final in May 2014 and I saved two penalties which helped get Rotherham promoted to the Championship. I have a 100% record in penalty shoot-outs. My penalty record goes back through to when I was at Carlisle. I have been involved in seven penalty shoot-outs and have won every one and saved two penalties in every shoot out.
“I have also played in a lot of big games in the Championship in front of big crowds.
“This season has been a bit frustrating, I have just played the two games, but the season before I played 35 matches in the Championship for Rotherham and played throughout the League One campaign the season before so I have had a good time in South Yorkshire.
“I have played a lot of games. At Carlisle I played over 150 matches for them in League One so I have a lot of experience on my side. I am 31 now and have been around quite a bit so I know what is expected of me. I am still young for a goalkeeper! So hopefully I am just getting into my best years now. I want to come here and play some games.
“A lot of managers like an experienced goalkeeper in the team and hopefully I can bring that to Aberdeen.
“I just have to prepare as best as I can for the game on Sunday, starting with training this afternoon with Gordon Marshall, and we will take it from there. Although I have not been playing first team games, I have played a lot of reserve games so I feel fit and sharp and I am raring to go.”
Please be advised that Adam has been allocated squad number 19 for the remainder of the 2015-16 season and will be in the squad on Sunday if his international clearance comes through.
