“Motherwell have been very consistent over the last few seasons. They’ve got themselves into Europe and although they might have lost a few players they still play the same way – they are hard working and have goals in their team. We fully expect a tough match. We have beaten them twice but they’ve got players that can cause problems. They are in decent form at the minute and they’ll come here buoyant after their last couple of results.
“We’re in decent form ourselves though. Four wins in a row, we’ve now got two home games back to back and we want to continue winning.
“Mark Reynolds is not going to make it for the Boxing Day fixture but he will be ready for the Ross County fixture. Mark has been a player who has been ever present for us up until now and he is a very key player but we have to deal with that. We’ve got three injuries to defenders, Andy Considine, Clark Robertson and now Mark but we’ve overcome injuries before and we just have to go and do it again.
“Clark Robertson won’t be fit until February, Mark will be fit for next week, we are still waiting on scan results coming back for Andy but he will probably be out for a few games anyway so we are a little light defensively. Michael Hector will go back after the Kilmarnock game on 5th so I do believe we will need to strengthen defensively in January. We’re confident we can bring in the necessary players that can help us meet the demand that’s put on us.
“The fans have been fantastic in their numbers but we crave for that real support at home, to get right behind the team. The home crowd is up this season and it’s been brilliant We want a bigger crowd again if we can for the Motherwell game. It’s going to be really important that it’s a collective effort against one of our main rivals. We need everyone playing their part, the support, the players, chipping in together to try and get a result because it is an important game for us.”
