Aberdeen FC Community Trust 7’s (AFCCT 7s) is now in full swing with primary school teams from Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire playing 7 a-side matches every Saturday morning at the Aulton Pitches in Seaton.

Matches are played within two age groups, P4-5 and P6-7.  AFCCT 7’s promotes the Positive Coaching Scotland ethos where fixtures are played in a child friendly environment centred on player development.   Aberdeen FC Community Trust coach Liam McGarry said “This is a very exciting project to be a part of, it is great to so many young players playing and enjoying their football in the correct type of environment, following the National Player Pathway. The support that has been received so far from everyone involved in AFCCT 7s has been great. I can only see this league getting bigger and better in time with the continued support from coaches, parents and players from AFCCT 7s.”   Tomorrow sees the final round of fixtures before a two week break for the October holidays. Before the return of fixtures on Saturday 8th November a 7v7 in-service will be held by Scottish FA Community Coaches, Steven Sweeney and Scott Duncan. The in-service is aimed at supporting coaches from the AFCCT 7’s in implementing the National Player Pathway and to share best practice.

Everyone at Aberdeen FC Community Trust would like to thank Aberdeen City Council, Scottish FA and Aberdeen Football Club as well as Sport Aberdeen’s Active-Schools team for their continued support.
