Dons Set For Return To Aberdeenshire Cup

Aberdeen have been paired with an away trip to Highland League outfit, Buckie Thistle in the first round of the Aberdeenshire Cup. The Club have a long association with the tournament dating back to the first edition in 1887 and have lifted the old trophy a record 35 times, with the last victory coming in 2004 against Fraserburgh.

The Dons will field a team competing against other members of the Aberdeen and District Football Association, which includes local juniors, Banks O’ Dee and Highland League clubs from the area. The current holders are Formartine United, who saw off Cove Rangers in last season’s final.
