“It is good to get off the mark.

“It is overdue, but I am pleased it is done with now and I can try and build on it.

“The goal was a good move and an excellent ball from Lewis with his left foot, I am sure he is pleased with that one.

“I just pulled on the shoulder of the centre half, I thought he was going to nick it. It was a great ball and I was just there to tuck it away.

“I am confident in my own ability; it is just being on the park and showing everybody what I can do.

“It is nice to get the goals. It is what you expect from your strikers. Overall, I was pleased with the team performance as well, so it is a good day.

“I had been frustrated I hadn’t got much of a run in the team, but it is a team game and we have got a competitive squad.

“I have just had to keep my head down and work hard and wait for the opportunities. A week or two go (against Hibs) it didn’t go as planned.

“I felt good in that game, but as I say it didn’t go as planned.

“I still maintain it was a good tackle (for his red card v Hibs). It was very disheartening because I was in the team and playing well and I had an opportunity. I just had to forget it. Put it to the back of my mind and wait for the next opportunity which I am glad has come around very quickly and I managed to do something with it.

“I felt like I could build on that performance and today I got the goal and completed 90 minutes which is always an aim.

“The manager is open and honest. We have had conversations throughout the season. It is a competitive squad and it is about putting myself in a position to be in the squad and in the team.

“I have no doubt that me and Sam can play together. We had good spells in the game where we linked up really well and the team linked up really well. Overall, we can be pleased, especially attacking wise the way we played today.

“I am looking forward to the next game. I want to be on the park playing minutes and scoring goals. That’s what I came to do.

“Behind the scenes in training everyday I try and work as hard as possible to put myself in the position so when the opportunities do come, I am there to take them.

“Cormack Park is excellent. It is going to be a huge benefit to the team and to the football club. I know everyone is really excited to get in there and start working full time.”
