Born in Rabat, Ayoub developed through the FUS system before establishing himself as one of the standout attacking players in the Moroccan top flight.
He finished the 2024/25 Botola Pro campaign as the league's joint top scorer with 11 goals and his impressive form with FUS earned him recognition at senior international level with Morocco, making two appearances in the African Nations Championship against Angola and Kenya.
Fittingly, Ayoub becomes only the second player to make the journey directly from Rabat to the north-east of Scotland, following in the footsteps of the late, great Hicham Zerouali almost 27 years on.
