Aberdeen have been drawn to play Dumbarton at home in the Quarter Final of the Scottish Cup
Raith Rovers v St Johnstone
Aberdeen v Dumbarton
Stranraer/Inverness CT v Dundee United
Rangers v Albion Rovers
ties to be played the weekend of the 8th/9th of March 2014
After the draw, manager Derek McInnes gave his reaction to RedWeb:
“We’re delighted to get a home draw, something we haven’t had too often in recent times.
“We’ll give Dumbarton every respect, they’ve been doing well in the Championship and we know it’ll be a tough tie.
“It’s a great opportunity for us and we’ll look forward to it when it comes around.”
Barry Robson also gave his reaction after the draw:
“First and foremost- delighted we got a home draw. That’s what every team wants. That’s 4 games in the cup’s we’ve been away from home so we were dying to get a home draw. I know our manager and coaching staff will go and watch them and we’ll have a lot of information on them.
“We know it’s going to be a tough game- it always is in cup games but it’s one we are going to look forward to especially being at home.
“Everyone knows what the cup is like- anything can happen. We played Alloa and it took us to penalties to beat them- Paul Hartley had his side playing really good football and we expect the same from Dumbarton. We’ve been good at that all season- making sure we are concentrating, working hard and doing the right thing and we will continue to do that until the end of the season.”
