Barry Robson was pleased that his side sealed a first league win of the season against Ross County, putting on a great show for the fans at Pittodrie this afternoon.
“We performed at a really high level, we were quick and aggressive and scored our goals at good times too. We played how we want to play and that was pleasing too because when we’re at it like that, we’re a good side. When the goals start going in, everyone has a different perception, but we’ve played ok in a lot of the games this season, not just this afternoon. The difference today is we scored the goals we deserved.
“Ross County make it hard for you, they’re a difficult team to play, but the players dealt with it really well. We played some very good football, it was easy on the eye. Things flowed for us today, and it’s credit to the players for that.”
The Dons were on top form in both penalty areas against County, players and supporters alike taking particular pleasure in Duk getting his first goal of the campaign.
“Duk’s contribution has been great all season. The stats we get show us that. His high speed running in games is through the roof, he’s giving us all he’s got. Of course he wanted to get his first goal, but we’ve supported him, we back him, and he deserved his goal today. But I was pleased with the clean sheet as well. The back three are developing an understanding, they’re good players, they want to defend and to keep clean sheets.
“We are fighting on all fronts at the minute. We need to stay in the fight in the league, we’ve got a big cup game coming up on Wednesday night, we want to stay in that competition, then the following week, it’s back to Europe. That’s what we want, that’s what a club like this demands. Structurally we looked good, as we did on Thursday, and we need to keep that going now.”
