Adil Aouchiche was the man who looked mostly likely to pick the lock of the Dundee United defence in the 1-1 draw at Pittodrie, his shot from distance ultimately responsible for Jesper Karlsson’s equaliser.

“I don’t think mine was an assist for the goal, the goalkeeper saved it, but if I can help the team to score goals, I will be always happy. But we need to create more chances, try to find more shooting positions, like I did in that moment, to move their block. Maybe they’re going to jump out at our player because they’re going to be scared of us taking shots.

“We will watch back the game with the staff and keep learning, because if you look at our squad, we have the quality to create chances and score goals, big quality from a lot of players in our team.

“We were good in possession with the ball, but now it’s about finishing the action, creating more chances, big chances in the final third. We need to work more in this phase to score more goals.

“We had the momentum of the game, so we’re disappointed we didn’t bring the three points for the fans. So now we need to pick up some points in the away games. It’s always hard to bring some points from away, but we need to do it because we lost two points tonight. Hibs will be really massive and we want to go there to bring the three points to close the gap, and bring back some confidence for our team.

“Three games in a row away, so we need to be really solid, really compact, and everyone has to be ready because I think the manager is going to use everyone for these games. We will be really focused on game by game. Every game is important.

“I want to help us to get better and to reach our goals. I’m a real competitor, I want to reach every goal with this team, Aberdeen, win games, score scoring goals, give assists, play games in a row and be happy I can reach my best level, trying to get Aberdeen back into Europe next season. We have to play Europe every season.”
