Ylber Ramadani embodied the commitment to the cause that won the Dons three points at Tannadice, putting himself in harm’s way to keep Dundee United at bay, and ending up with some sore ribs as a result.
“At the start of the second half, I saw their player was running through and I was not going to let him score, but the goalkeeper was thinking the same and he got the ball and me. I felt him hit me in my ribs, but they did not score, so that’s ok!”
There was a real determination from the Aberdeen side to put an end to the recent run of away defeats, something they’d be focusing on all week according to Ramadani.
“On Monday in training, the manager said how important it was that we win today, because we have not won away in a long time. I think the new players that have come in, Shinnie in the middle of the pitch, we have a stronger mentality, and we keep believing in ourselves to the end. Even when they equalise, we still believe.
“We are working hard every day in training, we have to support each other, in games and we must do this if we want to keep winning games. When I came here, the club said that every season, they want to qualify for Europe and I want this too. I hope we can compete for this right to the end.”
