Alexander Jensen opened his goalscoring account for the Dons in the 3-0 win over Dunfermline, and was a constant thorn in the side of the Pars down the right-hand side.

“It was very nice to score a goal and get the victory’” he said afterwards. “I got a bit of a bad touch, but I’m happy to see that it went in. It was great that we scored right before half-time, it gave us a lot of confidence that we could keep going in the second half, and then my goal was at the start of the second, so it was good timing.

“In the last two games in the league, I had a good feeling when I was on the pitch, like we controlled the game, but maybe we struggled in the last third to be really dangerous. We had a lot of the ball, maybe just passing too much around, and we talked that we have to be more direct and more dangerous. I think we did that very well today, we tried to do what we talked about the whole week. There’s still a lot we can improve, but I think it was a step in the right direction today.

“I feel we had a great training week and we strive to get better every day in the squad. If we keep doing this and keep pushing each other, things will sooner or later turn around and we’ll get some more victories hopefully.

“We just have to keep improving in training and keep focusing on ourselves, because I think it’s a good squad and we just need to build confidence again. I feel there’s a spirit that everybody wants to get better and we push each other in training and then the wins hopefully will come in the league as well. This was a step in the right direction.

“We have everything to play for this season, even though we haven’t won much in the league recently. There are a lot of opportunities still in the season, we just have to keep improving and keep believing in ourselves and I think we will do that.”
