Ross McCrorie was the player who was put up to the press this week.

“It is another big game for us. The remaining games are all cup finals.

“We take each game as it comes, you can’t start thinking too far ahead. It is Ross County this week, a side who got a great result last weekend against St Johnstone.

“We know it will be difficult. They have a very good manager in Malky MacKay, someone I know well from working with him when I was involved with the Scotland youth teams. We know they will be well organised. They will be well drilled. And they have a lot of good players in their team, so a tough challenge but one we are all really looking forward to.

“It was bitterly disappointing the last time we went to Dingwall, to lose a goal with the last kick of the ball. Not getting the win probably showed up the problems we had earlier in the season. We were not tidying up on the small details. It meant we were dropping points. The fact we have done that now, you can see that we have picked up a lot of points recently. It is up to the players to make sure we keep that form up and keep the performances to a high level.

“Friday night football in not something we get to do a lot. We know that we will be taking a big crowd up there with us. It is a big game for both teams as there is a lot at stake.

“The gaffer has been excellent since he came in. he has put his own stamp on things and made some changes to the system we were playing. Not just him, Steve Agnew and Liam Fox have been well good with the work they have done us. They are very knowledgeable about the game.

“As I say, we have made a few tweaks to the system. There have been a few different styles of play that we have implemented, and different tactics since the gaffer came in. We have had a lot of time working with the coaching team on the training ground and you are seeing the benefits of that now.

“I have said before, we have got a very good squad here. We have a top team. This is as strong a squad I have been part of during my time at Aberdeen. It is littered with quality players. There is a lot of talent. It is also a really good group. Everyone gets on very well. During the difficult times, everyone stuck together.

“For whatever reason, it did not click at times before, there were problems, but the past five games you have seen a lot of top performances. But you are only remembered for your last game. We need to keep it up.

“I have played on the right side of defence for most of the season now, so I am comfortable with that being my position.

“Every week, we know we need to do well at this club, week in week out. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but I never lost belief, even when things were not going well. It is up to us to continue to show a strong mentality.”
