INFORMATION FOR THE TRAVELLING SUPPORT TO TYNECASTLE
Please remember it is a 5.30pm kick on a Saturday.
As this is a sell out for the away end so please do not turn up without a ticket for the game.
Aberdeen supporters attending the match should make regular checks with Traffic Scotland if they are travelling by car. They should also listen to traffic updates on the radio. Weather issues have been quite extreme and driving conditions have been very challenging, so please leave extra time for your journeys.
Local to the area of the stadium, road works exist at the Glasgow Road – Gogar junction due to the construction of the new Gogar Train Station and underpass through the A8. This causes lane closures on approach to and through the Gogar junction. REMEMBER the average speed cameras on the North side of the Forth Road Bridge (40mph max).
Supporters travelling by train should be clear about their return journey times. Please check the timetables. Trains returning from Tynecastle will be dry and no alcohol can be carried or consumed on those trains. The trains will be robustly policed by the British Transport Police so please co-operate with them and the train staff. Please be aware that there may be passengers who are not associated with football and may not be so tolerant of football banter.
Aberdeen supporter’s coaches and mini buses will park on Russell Road/Sauchiebank. REMEMBER THE ROAD CLOSURE AT MCLEOD STREET see below. Arrangements are already in place for the Aberdeen Disabled Supporters Coach.
All supporters are to be reminded that McLeod Street will be completely closed to vehicles from one hour before kick-off and 30 minutes after the match with no exceptions. Police Scotland will be deploying the segregation barrier across McLeod Street prior to the end of the game. Supporters will be encouraged to go left (North) along McLeod Street at the end of the match. Aberdeen supporters will have to wait around 20 minutes if they want to head right (South) along McLeod Street. Your co-operation on this is appreciated.
Please bear in mind the legislation which is enforced in relation to attempting to enter the stadium whilst under the influence of alcohol. Police Scotland and the Match Stewards will be pro-active in identifying any supporter who is likely to be drunk at the time they enter the ground.
Aberdeen supporters will be accommodated in the Roseburn Stand. Access is from McLeod Street. Turnstiles open at 4.30pm. 10 turnstiles will be used for this area. Tickets are for allocated seating.
Supporters are kindly asked to sit in their designated seat and not to congregate on the concourse or in the vomitories.
Strictly no pyrotechnic devices please and that includes in the streets and stadium. These devices are very dangerous and do nothing for the good name of Aberdeen FC.
No smoking of cigarettes or E-cigs is permitted.
Flags must conform to relevant fire regulations. Flags must not be offensive or sectarian nature. No flags with a pole in excess of 1m will be permitted. There will be no space for individual flags to be draped over seating areas as we have sold out this section. Please be directed by stewards on these matters. The Stadium Safety Team will have the final say as to whether a flag is permitted into the stadium.
3,500 Dons Supporters are expected. Let's hear you as usual. And thank you as ever for your support.
COYR!!
Please note the game will be live on BBC1 Scotland and also on RedTV International.
Updated Information:
A yellow weather warning has been issued for Scotland, with a likelihood of snow and ice. While this will in all likelihood not affect the match itself, supporters are urged to plan their travel routes home with caution.
Aberdeen supporters heading north, should know that the last train to Aberdeen leaves Haymarket at 9pm.
All supporters should regularly check Scotrail, National Rail Enquiries and the Met Office websites for weather and travel updates.
