November’s Statoil Young Talent of the Month award was presented to Cameron Wilson from the Academy’s Under 10 squad.  Cameron, is one of many young players who joined Aberdeen Football Club’s Youth Academy from Westdyke Community Club.  The past month has seen Cameron play to a very high standard for the Under 10 squad as well as stepping up to play for the Under 11 squad in fixtures against Motherwell & Morton.  His performance for the under 10 squad away to Dundee United was one of his best matches of the season so far, where he had a lot of success with his creativity and technical ability.  Cameron has scored a lot of goals this month adding to his season total, but is also a player who recognises the importance of assisting his team mates in completing attacks.

Head of Academy Coaching, Gavin Levey stated ‘November has been a great month for Cammy in terms of his performances and also the improvement we’ve seen in his decision making on the ball.  He’s a tricky little player and is always willing to express himself on the ball, whilst continuing to work hard both technically and physically.  He should be proud of his achievement and will no doubt continue to have a good attitude to perform at an even higher standard for the remainder of season’.

Joseph MacPherson from the U17 squad was the well-deserved winner of the Talent of the Month award for November.  Joe, who attends Cults Academy, and joined the Youth Academy at U14 level, has been a consistent feature in Scott Anderson’s U17 squad and has also made an appearance for the U20 Squad in the Graeme Grant testimonial against Forres Mechanics in November.  Joe is a solid fixture in the U17 squad defense and has also managed to get his name on the score sheet twice this season.

Head of Youth, Neil Simpson, praised Joe’s consistency throughout the season so far.  “Joe has demonstrated high levels of determination in his defensive position and shown great leadership skills at training and during matches this season, making him a worthy winner of Novembers Statoil Talent of the Month award.”
