Sodexo is committed to enhancing the matchday experience for fans at Pittodrie and following feedback from the recent Public Catering Survey, some changes are being made to improve our service.
We are introducing new facilities in order to ease pressure on existing catering outlets and are in discussions with several local suppliers, with the aim of introducing more quality, Scottish products to our offering.
We have made changes to our matchday recruitment and staff selection processes, rolling out a rigorous training programme to ensure staff are fully prepared for busy matchdays.
We would like to thank fans for their feedback and assure them that we are working tirelessly to improve the speed and quality of our catering service, working closely alongside Aberdeen Football Club to enhance our offering.
Some of the changes will be introduced between now and the end of the season.
Speaking in today’s Evening Express, David Trotter, Sodexo’s accounts director, said: “We have studied the results of the survey and all of the feedback on social media. A lot of it was negative but we accept that. Ensuring our customers are happy is the No1 priority. We have used that information to put a plan in place that we feel will improve what’s on offer to supporters.
“We have focused on ways of speeding up the service and also ensuring there are enough products to match the demand from fans.
“We also looked at the standard and variety of products sold to them. Some steps have already been taken. We have set up an extra stall to cater for fans in the South Stand and others are planned for next season.
“We are confident fans will see signs of improvement when they go to the Hamilton game tomorrow.
“A lot of our products are Scottish but there is a desire to see us use companies in this area. The main item highlighted by the fans was the pies. The ones we already sell are award-winning, the bakers supply just about every other football ground in the country. But if we can find suppliers who can improve on what we already offer then we are happy to change.”
Sodexo’s General Manager at Pittodrie, Kenny Garden, has spent the last three months working with staff, on a one-to-one basis to improve their standards. Kenny said: “Our goal is to make sure fans who come to Pittodrie get the best service possible. We are also looking to take more staff on in future seasons, which will speed up the service and reduce the chances of fans missing any of the game.”
