“It was a very pleasing win.

“It was especially pleasing to get another clean sheet at a difficult venue. This is one of the hardest venues to come to.

“We are working very well as a defensive unit. But the whole team needs to take credit for that. You defend as a team and I think we have done that very well. We have limited teams to very few chances. It has been a nice little period for us defensively.

“I had a save to make just after we scored. Jay McEveley has got in a header but I don’t think he got as much power on it as he would have liked. That was really the only clear cut chance. Chances were few and far between for them.

“In the first-half I had to come out of my area. I felt that I won the ball and I have watched it back. I won the ball quite cleanly but we were both running at full pelt towards each other. The collision was inevitable but it was about winning the ball and I got their first. I don’t think he had a problem with it. He said it was the way he landed that caused the injury.

“I felt I won the ball cleanly so it was not a controversial incident.

“We would have liked to have scored a few goals and their goalkeeper has had a great game. I thought he was their best player which is a credit to ourselves.

“But the result was the most important thing for us today. A 4-0 win or a 1-0 win, all that matters is that we are through to the next round and we are very pleased with that.

“We will have a good look at the draw and access things. I just want to keep this good defensive run going.”
