Ryan on RedTV | "great to get off the mark"

Ryan Christie “It was a game where in the first half it was a bit frustrating for us. We found it difficult to get the ball down and play our passing game. Second half I thought we adapted to the weather and different aspects of the game and did better and managed to come out victorious. We took the game to them and it paid off in the end. “When the ball is in the air and it is blowing everywhere it is very hard to get it down and play some proper football. Credit to the boys that we managed to work around that in the second half.

“I am delighted for myself and I am delighted for Jayden as well. When you are coming off the bench you want to make an impact. It was a great header for Jayden to get the first and then I was able to wrap the game up.

“I thought Jayden was going to take a swing at it! But fair play to him, he did well to turn it back round to me and luckily it went under the keeper.

“It is great to get off the mark for the club.

“It is a nice feeling. Especially in front of the home crowd.

“Hopefully my performance today helps me push for a place in the starting XI. But as long as I am making an impact in the games I am playing in I will be happy, even if it is from the bench. That is my aim between now and the end of the season. So today is a good start. Hopefully I can make many more impacts.

“The fans have given me a good reception in both games which I really appreciate.

“I know from when I have been here with other teams, Pittodrie is a great place to play. There is maybe a bit more expected of me here than there was at Celtic but that is something I am happy to do. I don’t want to just come here and make up the numbers. The aim is to have as much impact as possible for Aberdeen. Eyes are maybe on me to be the creative spark but I feel I am up to the challenge.

“I was delighted to find out I am not cup tied. I thought I was after being on the bench for Celtic. I am looking forward to Saturday and hopefully I can help Aberdeen get past Ross County and into the next round of the cup.”
