“It is great to have a game back at Pittodrie and for myself it is great to be back playing again.

“It is going to be a good game and we know how competitive a side St Johnstone are. It certainly will not be easy.

“It has been a frustrating time for me. I had my ankle injury and then got back and then picked up my hamstring injury. It was important to have good people round me to keep me upbeat and now I feel fit and I feel sharp and I am ready to go.

“Training has been excellent this week so hopefully we can take that into the game on Saturday.

“Craig Storie has done very well. We always knew that he had great ability and he is a good lad in the changing room. When myself and Willo were out of the team it was great to see him getting his chance. He grabbed that chance with both hands so he has fully deserved the new deal. Hopefully now he can kick on and do great things.

“I pulled Craig aside myself and said that he was doing well and to keep it going. I told him there would always be ups and downs in football. He has certainly had his fair share of difficult times with the injuries. When you are on the up you just want to keep that going. There is still a lot more to come from him. He is a very honest and down to earth lad who will not get carried away though.

“After the Inverness defeat and the Partick postponement all we can do now is to try and bounce back from that and we will be targeting as many maximum points as we can get from every game between now and the end of the season to try and keep the pressure up. All the boys in the dressing room fully understand how important wins are at this stage.

“That’s a huge task of course but we’ve had two brilliant runs this season and now we need to go on a third through to the end of the campaign and see where that takes us.”
