“I think it is a brilliant victory.
“All the boys in the dressing room are delighted with the way we played. It is a very hard place to come, and we were up against a very good St Johnstone side. It make it very difficult for you.
“In the first half we played the way we wanted to and obviously got the two goals. At half time we were feeling positive. Second half, the penalty did not help, it was a poor touch by me so I hold my hands up for that. “The way the team collectively came together for the remaining 40 minutes was a real credit to this group of players.
“We showed a different side to our game. We are known for our attacking qualities but the way our back four along with Ryan and Kenny defended was superb. It was probably what won us the game in the end.
“St Johnstone can play football but they can also go direct when they need to and they are very good at it. They will put balls in the box and will test you time after time. The manager made the point in the dressing room after the game, the amount of headers we won in our box today was impressive. Ash and Anto deserve a lot of credit.
“Second half we would have liked to have kicked on attacking wise but sometimes it is hard to do that in a game away from home. Even when you think you are doing well then the game can suddenly change and the opposition are coming onto you.
“I like playing here and I like playing St Johnstone. I have a good scoring record against them and a few people reminded me of that before the game! Hopefully that continues in two weeks time and in the seasons to come.
“A lot was made of last week and how it turned out but we saw it as a five-minute blip. It was a very disappointing result but we still took positives for the way we played for the first 75 minutes. We still needed to right that wrong by getting back to winning ways this week. it is good that we have done that and it lifts us again going into the semi-final next week.
“Everyone in the dressing room is really looking forward to the game at Hampden.”
