The Dons overcame their injury woes to produce a deserved victory in Glasgow this afternoon. Aberdeen made the perfect start at Firhill with a goal in 13 minutes. Hayes tested the keeper with a fierce shot, which he did well to turn round the post. From the subsequent corner Hector flicked on Hayes delivery and Zola was on hand to head the ball into the net. Seven minutes later Zola turned provider. Following some fine play from Smith, Zola went wide and cut the ball back for Pawlett to make it two. Hayes almost made it goal number three minutes later, but Aberdeen looked comfortable until the final few minutes of the half when Jamie Langfield had to make a couple of saves to maintain the two goal lead. In the final minute another great move from the Dons saw the Thistle keeper make another great save as he turned a Zola header round the post.

The Dons almost made it 3-0 after the break when the Thistle keeper produced another great save to deny Cammy Smith. Aberdeen continued to look comfortable and midway through the half Zola received deserved applause when he was replaced by Magennis and Storrie replaced Smith. Within minutes Magennis did make it 3-0 with a forceful run and composed finish. Aberdeen took their foot off the pedal in the latter stages as the woodwork denied the home side a consolation as the red army celebrated a fine away day. Hayes looked to pick up a sore one in the latter stages as he raced in on goal, but with all substitutes used he hoobbled his way to the whistle. Next up are league leaders Inverness Caley Thistle.
