The Dons moved into 2nd place in the SPFL Premiership after goals from substitutes Scott Vernon and Gregg Wylde handed the Dons a fantastic two-nil victory at Easter Road.

The Dons started the game really well and Mark Reynolds forced an early save from Ben Williams before Niall McGinn showed great skill to get past Robertson, McGivern and Hanlon but fired just over the bar. Hibs came into the game as the half wore on- Langfield had to make a save from Heffernan and seconds later Liam Craig fired wide of the post. Then- just before the interval- Jack made a great run and found Zola but he fired into the side netting to leave the scores at nil-nil at the interval.

Aberdeen started the second period as they had the first- creating numerous chances but again failing to convert them. Zola saw an effort saved by Williams before McGinn fired over with the goal gaping. But on 79 minutes they took the lead when sub Wylde robbed the ball from Stevenson and found Vernon who finished expertly from the edge of the box.

Hibs should have equalised when Langfield slipped as he went to clear the ball and it fell to James Collins. To the relief of the large Red Army contingent he fired behind. The visitors made them pay for that miss when Vernon set up Wylde to roll the ball home in injury time to guarantee the 3 points for the Dons.

Team news:

Derek McInnes made one change to the side that defeated Dundee United last week as Clark Robertson replaced Andrew Considine in defence.
