“We all like seeing our players representing their countries.
“Kenny made his debut, and a very confident debut as well, part of a winning performance, it was great for him and certainly whetted his appetite for the future.
“Jonny making his debut for the Republic of Ireland was such a good thing. It is something Jonny and I had spoken about over the past couple of years and I felt it was something he should aim for. I think Jonny thought at different stages it would be beyond him but it shows what can be done and hopefully he can get in the squad for the Euro’s.
“He would not be the first player who made a late shout to be involved in a major championship.
“The feedback from Jonny’s performances has been good. I spoke to him this morning and he has really enjoyed being away. The last seven games of the season have even more added importance for him. That can only be good for all for us. That extra motivation can only help.
“I watched Simon’s game against the Ukraine and saw his goal against Northern Ireland so he will be chirpy coming back through the doors tomorrow. Niall was probably the one who would have been disappointed he did not get more game time but hopefully we get the benefit of that because he has been playing often enough anyway.
“I was down watching Craig Storie play for the U21s yesterday. He was excellent and played his part in a good win for Scotland.
“And then we also have Connor involved with the 17s and the three boys – Danny, Frank and Scott away with the U19s.
“We also have players who missed out so hopefully in the future we will have even more players recognised at International level. The more we can have the better. It shows where we are as a club.
“With all those players away it has been a little bit difficult to get proper training sessions in. We have had about ten players to work with but we have kept everyone else ticking along nicely and it will be good to get everyone back together tomorrow.
“There is always a bit of trepidation about the international boys coming back injured but thankfully everyone has come through the games.”
