“I could not see that coming the way the game was going.
“I thought we had control in the second half. Rangers were started to sit deeper and we were starting to put a bit of pressure on. And then it all just fell apart. That was really disappointing. We collapsed which is not like us. We have been defensively solid for the past five or six games so to do that was very frustrating.
“There is nothing worse than conceding the three goals the way we did and falling apart.
“Bad goals have killed us. We lost sloppy goals at a time when we were doing well in the game.
“We need to take the criticism and move on.
“After losing the first one we then think about the need to put pressure on them and get straight back into it. But we lose the second one almost straight away. We can’t be happy about that.
“Rangers have punished us. You just can’t do that. That is the most frustrating part of the day. They have been clinical when we have given them chances.
“We are not going to make excuses. We have been beaten 3-0 and we need to take it on the chin.
“We would like to apologise to the fans. It was not good enough on our part.
“The next game is coming along next weekend in Perth. This one will hurt for the next couple of days. We will analyse it and then we have to move on. We are still in the position that we are in and we have got some massive games coming up. We can’t be down for too long. It will hurt for a number of days, there is no point in hiding away from that, but we have to stick together as a team and move on.
“We could have gone to 15 points ahead had we won today and we were on top in that second half.
“Maybe it will turn out to be the kick up the backside that we needed. We have been on a good run but it is these games that matter the most. These are the games you have to win. It is very frustrating we have not managed to get the job done today.
“As I say we can’t dwell on this. There are massive games coming up. We have a massive league game against St Johnstone before the split and then we have a Scottish up semi-final. So there is still so much to play for.”
