The Dons are travelling to Northern Ireland on Saturday for our final pre-season friendly before our Premier Sports Cup campaign begins.

Pre-season so far

Saturday's game will be our third public outing of pre-season.

The Dons were in The Netherlands last week for our pre-season camp as preparations for 2026-27 ramped up. We ended the camp by falling to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of FC Twente in Goor.

Stephen Robinson

“Overall, it was a good week, a fantastic facility that we've been in. I see the team bonding together now, the new boys have been welcomed in. I still think there's maybe two or three positions that we need to strengthen to really finish off the squad, but everyone's aware of that and we'll continue to look to improve.”

The Head Coach speaking after Saturday's friendly.

The Opposition

Linfield's competitive action began on Thursday night, when they lost 1-0 at the hands of Nomme JK Kalju of Estonia in Round One of UEFA Conference League qualifying, with the second leg set to take place on 16 July.

In their most recently friendly outing, they lost 3-2 at the hands of Kilmarnock in Belfast last Saturday.

The Blues finished fourth in last seasons NIFL Premiership, and they are managed by David Healy, the former striker accrued 95 caps for Northern Ireland during his playing career and sits fourth in their all-time most capped list.

Player View

"To be fair to everyone, no one stayed in their room. We’re all out getting involved and getting to know each other.I think it’s really shown on the pitch and on the training pitch, because we’re starting to trust each other and start to really put them messages all together.”

Brad Lyons reflecting on our training camp, speaking after last week's friendly against FC Twente.
