“I think we deserved all three points today. There was one team trying to win the game and one team trying not to lose the game. I think in football terms, the team that deserved to win won.
“You need to find answers, you need to find solutions. We tried various things, even in the first half, because we were up against a stuffy team. Steve's got them set up to be that team, to be stuffy and to be difficult to break down.
“When you look at the squad you've got and you look at the options we've got, we've had that all season, options coming off the bench changing the dynamic of the game and once again we had that today.
“The introduction of Ryan Christie and Miles Storey, it created a different dynamic, difficult for them to defend against and we managed to get the goal thanks to good movement in the box and a cut back cross which we've worked on all week. Niall McGinn getting on the end of it, doing what Niall McGinn does.
“We've done our work today, we can only focus on what we can effect. It was a hard fought game, it was frustrating at times. Credit to the referee for adding on the time he did.
“What happened at the end was no great surprise. I see the boys day in day out. I know the spirit that is in them. I know they have a desire to win. A hunger for success this season.
“That's what they keep doing, they keep churning out results. It's difficult when the pitch isn't great. We need to adapt, we need to find a way to play and get the win and we've done that again.
“You're trying to create tempo, that's the type of team we are we've got real pace in the side so it's trying to make the grass a bit slicker and make the game quicker. When teams sit in against you you need to move them about as quick as you can.
“At the end of the day, it's all about trying to find a way to win the three points and we know the answers are in the dressing room.
“Anthony O'Connor was fantastic in the time he was on, and like a good squad member he realised when he comes off it's nothing to do with his performance it's to get another striker on the pitch in Miles Storey to try and find answers to get the ball in the back of the net.
“I thought he played his part today, as did every player, and he accepts that may happen. We've done that before where we'll substitute a defender for an attacker, if needs be we'll do the opposite if we're winning a game and we need to take a striker off so credit to him for the way he played today but also his attitude towards helping the team win.
“That's eight home wins now in all competitions. It is great for the players to be mentioned in the same breath as that team (1986 side). It is not easy. As I say the pitch was not great so we have to find a way to play but we have done it again. We have scored a lot of last minute goals. I think that epitomises what the squad is like and the spirit that we've got in the dressing room.
“There's a never say die attitude, we never know when we're beat and we keep going to the final whistle.”
