Youngsters given chance to make Pittodrie debut!

Pittodrie Stadium will be the venue for a 4×4 festival hosted by the Scottish FA in conjunction with the Aberdeen District Juveniles FA on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th May from 5.30pm-8.30pm.

This event, which has been kindly sponsored by Apache North Sea, will see ninety eight teams from three age groups competing in the event.

The Scottish FA North Region, in partnership with the Aberdeen District Juveniles FA, have developed the 4v4 game around Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Area following pilot project in 2009 which saw just 17 teams participating.

The 4v4 game is part of the Scottish FA Player Pathway were all children aged 6-8 years old playing club football take part in a format of the game that relates best to their age. The 4v4 objectives are to give players maximum touches of the ball, an absence of focus on winning, focus on individual learning, fun and success. The 4v4 game is seen as the perfect learning tool for young players and the first step for players in the national player pathway
