Peter Leven spoke to the media this morning to preview our game with Ross County in the cinch Premiership. RedTV subscribers can watch in full through the video above.

“It’s football. Things happen and you’ve just got a plan for the unexpected. They told us that during the week. Alan addressed that yesterday. He and Steven (Gunn) addressed the players and said we would be in charge for the Ross County game.

“As I said before, the main core of the staff are still here. The boys have responded well this week, they have trained really well. The boys who have been on national duty have done really well as well. It’s not like there is a new backroom staff. The main core are still here.

“The players know their job. Their job is to win football matches and it’s our job as staff and coaches to prepare them well to get that result.

“Every game is massive at this club, I’ve said that since I’ve been here, it’s Aberdeen Football Club, we are expected to win every game. That’s the demands from the fans, from myself, from everybody here. We’ve got to win every game.

“It’s a big game. Ross County are right behind us, but also we’re looking up as well. We got a great three points against Motherwell in the last game. So we’ve just got to keep that momentum going.

“Training has been really good this week. We’ve worked hard, we’ve worked well, we’ve had meetings so we’ll be well prepared for tomorrow.

“Obviously, I’m just focused on Saturday and then we’ll see what happens next week. For team news, everybody is good.

“We have focused on where we can hurt them, how we can get better from the the Motherwell game. I thought we played really well against Motherwell, but I would also like to to see how we can get better and how we can stop the opposition from hurting us. We’ve worked on a lot of that. We just got Jamie (McGrath), Richard (Jensen) and Bojan (Miovski) back on Thursday from national duty so they have trained yesterday and will train today. We’ll have a meeting this morning and we’ll do some tactics on the pitch.

“The players have been really positive this week. As I said the players have been great in training this week, worked really hard, good attitude and everybody is in really good spirits.

“I’ve tried to take the pressure off of them. Pressure can blur your football vision. We have got very good football players in this team. We’ve got to bring that tomorrow. Yes, they’ve got to work hard, that is the fundamentals of this club. They’re good footballers and I’ve got to make sure they’re ready for that.

“It will be a tough game. They have got good players; Dhanda, White, Murray, they have got very good players. It will be a tough task.

“Work rate is first and foremost. You’ve got to out work the opposition and then bring your quality. Hopefully our fans will push us through as well.

“We always need our fans. They have been brilliant here. Away from home they travel in their numbers and at home they have been fantastic. I need them to push us.”
