Peter Leven was delighted with Aberdeen’s win at Motherwell today, and just as happy with a fifth clean sheet of the league campaign.

“I thought we were very strong in the middle of the park today but to be fair, the back line and Kelle keeping a clean sheet is huge for us because we’ve not done that enough. They put us under pressure in the second half, but we stood up to the test.

“I thought we played well today and we battled when we had to. Everybody wanted the ball today and that was important. We needed everybody on the same page, that’s what we worked at on Thursday and Friday and I thought at times we were really good at doing that today. We don’t have a long ball striker, we have footballers here so I felt the best way to win at Motherwell was to use the and to play football.

“We had to play our football and use our strengths, and we did that. I thought we were brave, I felt we controlled the game at times, but the way we defended was pleasing too. All we can control is what we do ourselves and those three points were massive. We need to win every game, those are the expectations here, it’s about us, not anybody else.”
