Aberdeen almost won the game at Livingston late on until the goal was overturned by VAR but Peter Leven admitted that his side perhaps hadn’t done quite enough to deserve all three points.

“I thought we had won it at the death there, but I haven’t seen the video of the goal yet. It was a great finish from Bojan but overall, I don’t think we’ve done enough in the final third to really put pressure on their goal. I thought from back to middle we were alright and then we just never had that spark in the final third.

“I see it as two points dropped to be honest, but I’m delighted with a clean sheet, it’s really important to build on that. But I’ve always said to them, if we can’t win then we mustn’t lose.

“It was difficult with the high winds and the dry pitch but we tried to get the ball down and play and I thought at times we did do that. We punched it through the lines, we passed for Bojan and Leighton to get into the box a couple of times and then Duk later on, but he just couldn’t get it under control. It was a difficult afternoon for both teams in those conditions.”

The draw confirmed that Aberdeen will be seeing out the season in the bottom half after the split, much to Peter’s disappointment.

“It’s difficult for us to be in the bottom half after the split. It’s not where we want to be but we’re in this situation and it’s my job right now to try and get as many points as we can and finish as high up the table as we can.

“We cannot take the foot off the gas until the end of the season. We’ve got to do it for the supporters, they travelled in numbers again today, we’re at home next week so we’re looking to get three points there.”
