Manager Neil Warnock spoke to the media on Tuesday morning to preview our cinch Premiership match with St Johnstone at Pittodrie. RedTV subscribers can watch in full through the video above:

“I think it’s an important game. I think we’ve got to get on the front foot now and stop feeling sorry for ourselves and have a right go and try and get the crowd behind us by doing what we do on the pitch and not waiting for the opposite way around.

“You’ve got to find a happy medium. We’ve got to get more out of the players that we’ve got and I’ve got to find more out of the group myself.  I read about how I’ve come up for a holiday, make no mistake I would have picked a warmer place if I wanted to go on holiday! I think it’s a challenge and I’ve always wanted a challenge. I’m going to be working my socks off now to find a formula that can get us a winning team. That’s what I’ve come up for, there’s no slacking off or anything. What we’ve been been doing, we’ve just got to keep going. Yes, one or two things haven’t worked out. So I’ve got to look at alternatives if that’s the case.

“I was disappointed with both of the home games that we didn’t come out with all three points. I thought we played quite well at times in those games. I just think that on Saturday it was a bit of a knock back because we were never at the races really. They played better than us, they were more physical, they passed the ball better than us, they were better than us in every aspect. I have no problems with that but we move on now and like I say if I have to change one or two things I will.

“I think the last time I came up against Craig Levein was when he was at Leicester. I’ve always kept in touch. When things have changed, I’ve sent him messages, he’s sent me messages. I know he’s enjoying it. I hope we can perform and get the fans behind us and get the result to us.

“In terms of team news I am not going to go into that now, I’ve got one or two ideas. I’ve just got to see a couple of lads before training today. We have no more fresh injuries.

“I have to decide, can I get more out of that same group or do I have to change positions or do I have to give one or two lads an opportunity, all those sorts of things? I’ve got to take it on board because at the end of the day, I just want to get the fans clapping and cheering, getting behind us and giving them something to cheer about. That’s all I’m asking. I’m only asking the lads to be genuine in what they do and give it a right good go.

“Winning is the most important thing but a performance as well would would cheer me up. I think we might have to tweak here and there to get that performance really.”
