“St Johnstone came up to do a job and they did it. They set up well. It was a tough game but we did have chances. I myself had a good chance in the first half. When you have tough games like that, ones that are very scrappy, you need to take your chances when they come along.

“The boys in the dressing room are still very positive. You can see that in training. There is still a lot of confidence. So we are all looking forward to tomorrow night’s game.

“There is no point in dwelling on the game on Saturday. At this time of year the games come thick and fast so hopefully we can get back to winning ways tomorrow night.

“The way we played against Kilmarnock, we were in their faces and we were clinical. We were really clinical in the final third. We need to produce that against Motherwell.

“Another home game, with the fans getting behind us and pushing us on, hopefully we can find that result we all want and need.”
