Craig Brown speaks to Dave Galloway
“We need St Mirren to do us a favour tomorrow night. I think if Kilmarnock beat them it will make it very unlikely that Aberdeen or Dundee United will make the top six. So let’s hope St Mirren can do us a favour. It is a local derby and St Mirren are a good side and are on a high after their cup final victory so we will just have to wait and see what happens, they have a good chance.
“On Saturday I thought we have played better in games this season and not got the win. I felt we played better against Hearts earlier in the season at Pittodrie when we drew 0-0. But on Saturday the difference was we got the goals. We also got a few breaks – they hit the post and Jamie Langfield made a couple of fine saves. No one is thinking it was a vintage performance though.
“There were a lot of good individual performances but as a team the combination play was not as good. I think our team play will improve over the next couple of weeks as the pitches improve.
“There has been no difference in training this week regards the attitude of the players just because it is the last game for Archie and myself.
“Gary Naysmith should be back in the squad for Saturday. His fitness is improving and he is an influential player in the dressing room so it would be hard not to include him. Jonny Hayes took a knock on Saturday and did not train yesterday. Hopefully the problem will settle down later in the week and he will be fit to play. The others are still out.
