We're finally back in SPFL Premiership action on Sunday when St Johnstone visit town to resume our league campaign.

There is still time to join us for this weekend's meeting, with tickets available online.

Stephen Robinson

“We’re four unbeaten, I believe, so it’s about trying to continue that.

“That seems like a long time ago since we played Hibs, but as I said, there’s been a lot of positivity. We did have a hectic start, a lot of games. So I think the break helped reset everybody and refocus everybody because they’ve come back very fresh, and it gave me time to get minutes, and running and fitness into the legs of the boys that had just arrived at the last minute as well.

“So we go into it really positive on Sunday. We know we have to play to the best of our ability to win every match, and we’re looking to take things forward and keep progressing."

Where we left off

We head for Pittodrie on Sunday unbeaten in our last four across all competitions. The week before the break saw us deliver an outstanding 4-0 win at Fir Park, before drawing 1-1 with Hibernian at Easter Road.

Keeping busy over the extended break, we took on Dunfermline Athletic last weekend in a testimonial for their legendary kitman Mo Hutton, winning 4-1, thanks to goals from Jack Milne, Ayoub Mouloa (x2), and Lewis Smith.

Opposition Watch

It's been a positive return to the country's top table for St Johnstone so far this season. They sit middle of the pack in sixth with two wins, two draws and three losses to their name.

Simo Valakari has been in post for two years, the Finn's efforts this season have been boosted by the early season form of Josh Fowler. The striker is the Premiership's top scorer so far this campaign, netting four times.

The Perth side head to Pittodrie with one win from their last three outings, a 2-1 win over Hibernian on 6 September. They average 1.29 goals a game so far in the league, and alongside Rangers, are one of the only teams not to concede a goal from a set piece yet.

From the dressing room

"We’re on a journey, and we understand that it’s going to take time. There’s been a lot of change at the club, but winning games helps. It feels good around the place, and coming into work is better. “It was a real positive week, but we know that there’s still a lot to come from us. There’s still a lot to improve on. Every day in training, especially over the last two weeks, the standard’s been brilliant. People are coming back from injury. The standard of the players and whatnot is really good. “We know the capabilities we’ve got in this dressing room. We know the level’s there and that we can go and produce really good performances and good results as well. So that’s what we’re working towards.”
