Joining The Dons

"I’m really excited. Obviously, it’s been a bit of a mad couple of weeks, but I’m just really excited to finally be here. It’s been a great first week. "A few weeks ago there was a wee bit of interest, but it never really materialised. Then I heard that an offer had been accepted from Livingston on Thursday and, since then, it’s just been a bit crazy trying to get the deal over the line because I was really, really excited to come up here. "I just wanted to get it done as quickly as possible and, thankfully, it was able to be done quickly. I came straight up on Sunday night and was in the building on Monday. It’s been a quick turnaround, but it’s probably better that way, just to get it done and then straight into the game on Tuesday, which was good to get started.

"I think it's an absolutely massive club. The fanbase and everything surrounding it, it’s a huge club and it’s a massive step up for me personally. "Obviously, all those things, but I also spoke to the gaffer and he played a big part in it. His enthusiasm, the way he wants Aberdeen to play this year and the way he sees me fitting into that system just really suited me. It was a no-brainer for me. I just really, really wanted to come here. "Hopefully an attacking threat. I’ll be really positive with the ball. Hopefully I can score goals and assist goals and just help the team any way I can."

Getting to know the group

"It’s been great. The boys are great. Obviously, I knew a few of the boys before I came up here, so that’s really helped. Then, just being straight into the squad on Tuesday probably helped because that’s the best way to get to know people, by playing with them. "Hopefully we can keep building those connections on the park and off the park too.

"I spoke to Kevin Nisbet mainly. Obviously, I know him from before, so I spoke to him and he really sold the club to me. He was really, really positive about the way he sees this club going this season and the way the gaffer wants us to play. He was a great help in getting me up here too."

Goals for the season

"I think we’re all aware it was a bit of a tough season for Aberdeen last year and it wasn’t where this club wants to be. Everyone’s aware of the history surrounding the club and what the fans expect. "If we can push for the top six and hopefully towards Europe, I think that’s the ambition of everyone in the building and hopefully we can achieve that as a group.

"It would be massive (European football). I’ve never played senior European football myself, so personally it would be a massive achievement. Hopefully we can do that. "I think Europe would be the number one aim because we know that’s what a lot of people up here expect. Any way I can help personally to achieve that would be great."

The challenge of the Premier Sports Cup

"I think these games are always harder than you expect. We found that on Tuesday night going up to Brora. It was a tougher game than maybe some people expected. "I think these League Cup games are a good way to build a bit of positivity and build those connections because we’ve got a lot of new players, so it’s going to take time for everyone to gel and settle in. "These cup competitions are a good way to build those connections and try to build positivity going into the start of the league season."

Pittodrie debut

"I’m absolutely buzzing. I’ve played there a couple of times before. My senior debut was there with Hamilton, so it’s a long, long time since then. "Hopefully I’ll be on the right side of the result because previously I’ve only been on the losing side. Hopefully it’ll be good because I know the fans there are brilliant, they get the place bouncing and hopefully it’ll be like that tomorrow. "Tuesday’s game was a bit challenging and, obviously, I was just in the door. I’d literally been here less than 24 hours, so it was a bit of a crazy turnaround, but I was really buzzing just to be starting. "Hopefully on Saturday I can show a bit more, maybe chip in with a goal or an assist and hopefully three points as well."
