We knew it would be a tough game going into it, the game was on astro turf and they made it difficult for us. We knew one goal would probably be enough and thankfully we got that. We trained all week, worked on a game plan, and got the win. We have a very good group of players. There is a lot of quality in the squad.

Scotland U21 Victory v Lithuania

“It wasn’t a great game for the Scotland U21’s but we got the result. It was not pretty! We knew it would be a tough game going into it, the game was on astro turf and they made it difficult for us. We knew one goal would probably be enough and thankfully we got that. We trained all week, worked on a game plan, and got the win. We have a very good group of players. Fans Back in Pittodrie

“I am looking forward to having fans back in the stadium. Hopefully it all goes well, and we can look forward to having more fans back in the stadium over the coming months.

“It will be better than having no fans in from what we have been used to. It will give us a wee bit extra; I am looking forward to it. Hopefully they can help us push on and get us the three points.

Partnership with Ross McCrorie

“I have known Ross for a long time, and I have played with him at U21’s for a few years. I knew what type of player he was and what he was like as a boy. We have formed a decent partnership in the middle of the park, we feed off each other and I think the past couple of games where we have played alongside each other we have made each other play better. Both of us have raised our game by playing with each other.

“It has made it easier that we have known and played with each other before. We have played with each other since we are young. We know what one another are like both on and off the pitch.

“When another player comes in who plays in your area you raise your game in training. Everybody in the changing room raises their game and it does have a knock-on effect on the rest of the team.

Upcoming Games

“The confidence is high; we have been scoring goals and winning games. Kilmarnock are a tough opponent, they are hardworking, well organised and good in both boxes. We will be prepared and hopefully we can continue the form we had before the game and get the three points.

“We have got big games coming up in Europe and in the league. We want to keep putting points on the board in the league and see how far we can go in Europe.

“I have managed to get on the score sheet a few times which is pleasing.

“I wanted to add more goals to my game, and I have beaten the tally from last year already. I feel that I am playing well and helping the team win games which is the most important thing. The goals are an added bonus. It is up to me know to continue that form and to keep performing. I want to keep performing, and I want the team to keep performing.”
